Technology Leadership
Design and optimize end-to-end targeted NGS workflows with assay team.
Institute stage gates on technology (R&D → Pre-Validation → Validation → Release).
Build robustness across sample types (whole blood, saliva) and throughput modes.
Work with Clinical Lab Operations to define analytical performance claims (LoD/LoQ, precision, specificity, interference/cross-reactivity, carryover) and verification/validation study designs.
Supervise team development of research analysis pipelines including definition of QC metrics acceptance criteria for successful development
Establish truth sets, simulation frameworks, and benchmarking (GIAB, contrived mixes)
Define analytical performance under real-world conditions.
Collaborate with downstream bioinformatics teams for production hand-off.
Team Development
Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of R&D scientists
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the lab.
